Guaranteed to upset the "tree huggers", and "politically correct", Col takes a swipe at the sour-faced Christians who steal your joy. He points out that if you lose your joy, you lose your strength!
Joy is a major theme in the Bible with many hundreds of references, but it seems to be missing from the life of many Christians. As Col says, it seems that some people are dead and just won't lie down!
If you don't mind a laugh (specially at yourself) then enjoy Col’s delightful Australian accent and colloquial language as he walks you through his own amusing (and often embarrassing) moments as the Lord showed him that his strength lies in the joy that God has given him.
How to hear this 51-minute message:
In 2004 Col was nominated for Australian of the Year. Rev. Stringer is the author of 25 books with sales of well over a quarter of a million copies. His books 800 Horsemen Riders of Destiny and Anzac Chaplain Fighting McKenzie were listed as number 12 and 29 in the Australian Broadcasting Commission's ‘100 All Time Favourite Books’, the only Christian books in the top 100!
In 2004 an American university conferred a doctorate on him for research on Australia's Christian Heritage.
Col and his wife Jan are powerfully anointed to teach the life changing principles of God's Word and they spend most of their time speaking at churches, seminars and conventions around the world. His unique sense of humour has earned him the affectionate title of ‘Pastor Crocodile Dundee’.
About the book 'Australia The South Land Of The Holy Spirit' © 2006 by Col Stringer
The Day of Pentecost 14th May 1606 ~ 2006. This timely book shows how God's hand has been upon Australia for the last 400 years, and the significance of the number '400' throughout the Bible.
The 14th May the day of Pentecost 2006 marks the 400-year anniversary of Australia being named 'Southland of the Holy Spirit' (La Australia del Espiritu Santo) by its first European discoverer, Portuguese explorer, Pedro Fernandez de Quiros. 400 years was the time of silence between the Old and New Testaments after these 400 years Jesus shatters the silence.
In Acts 7:6-7 we see where God brought his people out from 400 years of bondage. It was 800 of Australia's forefathers (Australia's Light Horsemen during World War 1) who were largely responsible for the liberation of Jerusalem from 400 years of Ottoman-Turkish Muslim rule. 800 is significant because it is twice 400.
The day of Pentecost was the day of the double portion of the Holy Spirit to empower man and Israel became a nation on May 14th 1948.
