SHEEP OR GOATS? SONS OR SERVANTS?
This challenging, two part sermon created a furore when delivered some people were outraged, others were encouraged. No-one was unaffected. But this reaction is common when the Gospel is preached in its unadulterated form. You will either love it or you will hate it.
As the world collapses around us, the Church is called to be the salt and light, a beacon in the darkness. Yet a symptom of the Church today (and prophesied millennia earlier) is of a "lukewarm Church" having "a form of godliness yet denying it's power". We can't be responsible for the entire Church, but we are most definitely responsible for ourselves. Can we put our eternal future in the hands of those who preach to us without examining God's word for ourselves?
The Word of God has not neglected this subject, it has in fact been filled with information and warnings for the latter day church. "Behold, I have told you in advance" [Matthew 24:25]. Now is the time to behave like servants of God. We will inherit our position as sons and daughters at the appointed time. The decisions we make now will determine our position as sheep or goats on that final day.
This double message was delivered to House of Praise Christian Fellowship, West Gosford, NSW, Australia.
